第十九届学术科技节丨“电亮研途”——云上论电PLUS第30期

“云上论电plus”系列学术讲座活动自举办以来得到了广大师生的高度认可,得到越来越多兄弟院校的支持。该活动旨在打破空间界限,充分发挥线上学习优势,实现优质电气讲座资源共享,促进跨校、跨方向学术交流,开阔同学们的学术视野。系列讲座活动计划邀请国内外能源领域专家学者与广大学子面对面,在满足研究生学术需求、提升研究生学术素养的同时,帮助研究生充分了解行业发展前沿、拓宽就业视野,树立正确价值导向、发挥就业引导功效。

The Vision Interactive Industries:Challenges of Efficient Communications and Computing

嘉宾介绍:

Haris Gačanin (lEEE Fellow) joined Alcatel-Lucent Bell (now Nokia Bell)2010 as a Physical Layer Expert, During 2013-2015 he was appointed as a Research Director of the Customer Experience Management division of Alcatel-Lucent Bell,while between 2016-2020 he was a Department Head at Nokia Bell Labs. During 2017-2020, Prof Gacanin was a specially Appointed Professor at KU Leuven in Belgium. In 2020, he joined RWTH Aachen University as a Chair Professor and the head of the Chair for Distributed Signal Processing as well as the Dean‘s representative for International Cooperation.

讲座简介:

With artificial intelligence (AI) machines can be designed to perform “autonomous” tasks without being programmed to accomplish a single (repetitive) task, while being adaptive to environment evolution. In this talk, we focus on the practical challenge of integrating communications and computing for future industrial applications with AI. We target the challenges set upon wireless connectivity to support stringent service requirements (e.g., extended reality (XR)) with full awareness and adaptiveness to its environment in real-time. We challenge both the centralized and distributed learning approaches with the main focus on practical communications and computing requirements to embrace AI in the design of next-generation wireless connectivity. We start the discussion by summarizing the properties and limitations of learning in the wireless environment. To understand practical limitations, we compare the traditional optimization theory, data driven learning, and reinforcement learning in a non-stationary environment. The talk provokes new coming challenges and unveils interesting future directions across multi-disciplinary research areas.
